District Governor Visits the Rotary Club of Westlands

On the 23rd of September the DG Alemu Tedesse was at a special Club Assembly with members of the Rotary Club of Westlands. He was accompanied by his wife. The DG noted that the Club was on the right path, they had an elaborate Strategic plan and were working towards meeting their objectives. One of the Challenges mentioned was Membership Retention. The DG advised the club to strengthen its membership Drive efforts and pay special attention to recruiting Female members. He narrated how the growth trends of Rotary International (RI) can be pegged to women joining Rotary. He stressed that the increase in membership should not only be in quantity but also quality. The DG encouraged more members to be Sustaining RI members and Paul Harris Fellows (PHF) as this is one of the best ways to support RI's Sustainability. His speech also highlighted, developing local partnership in projects, Vocational Service, Public Relations and having innovative and friendly fellowship meetings.
